Washington state to allow 'Joints for Jabs' vaccination program at marijuana dispensaries – Seattle PI
The Liquor and Cannabis Board approved new guidelines on Monday allowing cannabis retailers in the state to give out one free pre-roll joint to customers who receive their COVID-19 vaccine — either first or second dose — at a participating in-store clinic. The “Joints for Jabs” promotion only applies to those 21 and over and will expire on July 12.
But Washington isn’t the first state to offer this unique “poke for a toke” incentive: Arizona launched a similar initiative last week.
The new program is the latest push in the state to reach the 70% vaccination rate target set by Gov. Jay Inslee before a full reopening on June 30. With three mass vaccination sites in the city set to close this month, the Seattle Fire Department has moved to mobile clinics at local farmers markets and breweries to encourage people to get vaccinated and meet them where they are.
