Trumbull PD: Anonymous complaint leads to drug bust

TRUMBULL — A recent anonymous complaint led to the arrest of two teens, police said Tuesday.

Kevin Gamarro, 18, of Old Town Road, and 19-year-old Joseph Turner, of Morris Avenue, were both charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and operating a drug factory, according to police Lt. Keith Golding.

Last Wednesday, around 8:25 p.m., Trumbull police received an anonymous report of a suspicious vehicle parked in a wooded area near West Wind Road and Lauderdale Drive.

“When officers arrived on scene, they found the vehicle occupied by three males with a strong odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the car,” Golding said. “The males were removed and a sweep of the car was performed by a Trumbull Police canine who is specifically trained in drug detection.”

The police dog indicated to officers there were drugs in the car, Golding said. Officers searched the car and found over four ounces of marijuana in the car.

“That marijuana was packaged in a way to indicate that it was being sold to others,” he said.

Gamarro and Tuner were taken into custody.
