Possible marijuana dispensary could replace Scooby's Bottle Shop – Petoskey News-Review
PETOSKEY — The current site of Scooby’s Bottle Shop might be where the third and final medical marijuana dispensary in Petoskey opens up.
Over the course of the last year, Petoskey fielded 16 applications and approved permits for two sites — 215 W. Mitchell Street and 1111 Charlevoix Avenue — that will become the first provisioning centers allowed to operate under the city’s 2019 medical marijuana ordinance. That ordinance allows for one more applicant to present plans and obtain a special use permit to set up shop.
The next eligible application identifies 403 W. Mitchell St. as the proposed location for that establishment, city planner Amy Tweeten said. City documents indicate that application comes from a company called First Property Holdings.
Corporate filings with the State of Michigan for First Property Holdings and some of its associated business names, including Rize LLC and several similar variants, name Nick Issak as a representative for the company. When contacted, Issak confirmed that he was responsible for the medical marijuana application in Petoskey, and said he was willing to comment, but unavailable to speak at that time.
