A man has been accused of driving under the influence, as well as possession of marijuana, according to authorities.

Police said they arrested David Myrick on St. Patrick’s Day during a traffic stop on Route 24 north in the area of Boyd’s Lane in Portsmouth just after midnight.

Authorities said Myrick, who was driving in and out of the breakdown lane, showed signs of intoxication and failed DUI tests.

“During a search of the vehicle, it revealed over 700 pieces of individually wrapped marijuana candies, which were marked with names, Tangerine Mango, Pina Colada, Pineapple Pomegranate and Tootie Fruity,” police said.

Police also recovered more than two ounces of marijuana and cash during the arrest.

Authorities said Myrick might face additional charges, noting that the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office is reviewing the case.
