The first legal marijuana transactions in the state of South Dakota in nearly a century will take place Thursday on the Flandreau Santee Sioux reservation.

At 10 a.m., Native Nations Cannabis will open the doors to a medical marijuana store where THC-infused products like buds, edibles, waxes and oils will be sold. And executives with the tribal-owned marijuana company anticipate as many as 100 customers their first day of retail operations.

Where is the dispensary?

The dispensary is located at 1314 S. Veterans Avenue, just south of the First America Mart convenience store and gas station and north of the tribe’s original casino building.

When is the dispensary open? 

Native Nations Cannabis intends to operate the facility from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Can I buy cannabis in Flandreau?

Anyone with a medical marijuana ID card issued by any governmental jurisdiction with a medical marijuana program is eligible to purchase cannabis products.
