Marijuana dispensary proposed for Plymouth Street in Halifax – Enterprise News
HALIFAX — Residents have until May 25 to comment on the proposed host community agreement with a recreational marijuana dispensary on Plymouth Street, the day the select board takes it up at its 7 p.m. meeting.
The town’s planning board is holding a public hearing on the proposed 1,700 square-foot facility at 894 Plymouth St. on May 20.
According to the agreement, the proponents, Flower and Soul, would give the town 3 percent of its total sales for the first five years, referred to as a community impact fee.
The amount the town is charging — 3 percent — is the maximum allowed under state law, although many communities have tried to require establishments give “donations” that far exceed the 3 percent allowed for community impact fees.
