Looking for work? East Springfield marijuana dispensary looking to hire 25 people at job fair this weekend
SPRINGFIELD — A company opening a medical marijuana dispensary in East Springfield has scheduled a job fair to aid its plans to hire approximately 25 employees.
The company, INSA Inc., has scheduled the job fair from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Hilton Garden Inn, 800 Hall of Fame Ave.
The company is seeking “talented, enthusiastic individuals for positions in cultivation, bookkeeping, processing/lab, security and retail sales, among others,” INSA CEO Mark Zatyrka said.
The company is hoping to hire approximately 25 employees, Zatyrka said.
INSA already has a medical marijuana facility at 122 Pleasant St. in Easthampton that began sales in February.
“Currently, we have hired well over 50 employees and we are looking forward to our next phase of hiring,” Zatyrka said. “It means a lot to us to be able to boost our local communities by hiring local.”
The 50 people hired thus far are from the Easthampton facility, Zatyrka said. The company’s cultivation, processing/lab and kitchen operations are all located at the same facility as the Easthampton dispensary, he said.
Springfield is the company’s only other location at this point, he said.
“There is no doubt the job fair will produce outstanding candidates for not only our brand new, soon to be open retail dispensary in Springfield, but we are looking to hire for all our departments,” Zatyrka said.
INSA is expanding rapidly “due to the tremendous growth we have already seen at our Easthampton location,” he said.
“We knew we had a great formula for success, but we have been a bit surprised by how quickly we have taken off,” Zatyrka said.
The East Springfield location is expected to open in early to mid-spring, he said. The City Council approved the plans in November 2016, as the first medical marijuana dispensary in Springfield. At the time the company was called
