PAWTUCKET, R.I. — The police seized more than $100,000 worth of marijuana and charged three people in a series of raids this week responding to neighborhood complaints about drug sales and production.
On Monday, the Police Department’s narcotics unit executed a search warrant at one of the garages behind 595 Mineral Spring Ave. and found 1,500 grams of marijuana, 45 marijuana plants and packaging and distribution materials. The street value of the marijuana and marijuana plants is about $100,000, police said.
David Ferrante, 37, of Warwick, was arrested and charged in the ongoing investigation looking into the manufacturing of marijuana, police said.
On Tuesday, police searched 14 Heaton St. as part of an investigation into narcotics distribution. Jaymion Andrade, 25, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and maintaining a common nuisance. Police say they seized 59 grams of marijuana, distribution materials and $2,300.
