A Winooski man is facing felony marijuana cultivation and possession charges after a tip leads police to his grow operation.

Winooski police say on Wednesday the department received a tip about a large marijuana plant on the rear porch of a home on East Allen Street.

A detective was able to obtain a search warrant for the property. During its execution the department seized five 6-foot tall marijuana plants and a ounce of bagged marijuana.

Matthew Rounds, 34, was arrested and charged with cultivation and possession.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone that has information about the incident is asked to call 802-655-0221.
