Fire investigators in Elmore, Vermont, discovered several marijuana plants after examining the scene of severe home fire.

Officials were sent to the home hoping to determine the origin and cause of the blaze. Instead, many marijuana plants were found scattered around the property. The State police were notified and a search warrant was obtained.

In addition to discovering the marijuana plants, lights, fans, duct work and other items used in indoor cultivation were found.

Nikos Levin, the home owner, has not come forward regarding the incident and his whereabouts are not known.

The investigation is still ongoing and a cause of the fire has yet to be determined. The house was a total loss.
