The Detroit Red Wings take on the Boston Bruins in their season and home opener tonight at 7:30 p.m. Eastern.

Detroit Red Wings start their season against the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last season and should be itching to set the story straight. Tomas Jurco, Riley Sheahan, Gustav Nyquist, Luke Glendening, and Andrej Nestrasil were not on the Detroit Red Wings roster at the beginning of last season and Tomas Tatar did not start the first game of year for Detroit, which means this will be a much different team for Detroit this season.

Boston Bruins lost a few key players in the off-season and preseason, but they still have their core players and are still a dangerous team. They beat the Philadelphia Flyers last night in Boston and then flew to Detroit, which means they could be a little fatigued tonight and the Detroit Red Wings will need to take advantage of that.
