Corey Walden’s contract with the Boston Celtics includes a small guarantee, according to Eric Pincus of Basketball Insiders.
Pincus reported Tuesday afternoon that the agreement is for two years at the league minimum, with $25,000 guaranteed. The deal will give Walden a training camp audition, but in all likelihood the 6-foot-2 guard will not have much of a chance to make the crowded Celtics roster. Expect him to be more of a candidate for the team’s D-League affiliate in Maine.

As @EricPincus notes. Corey Walden to BOS, 25k guaranteed. Will be assigned to Maine if he doesn’t make the roster. Expect more of these.

Walden, 22, was hobbled by a hamstring injury while with the Celtics summer league team, but averaged 18.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists as a senior at Eastern Kentucky. The Celtics have also reportedly added Alabama wing Levi Randolph for training camp.
