Every Wednesday, we’ll lead off the day with a look at some notable former Patriots and their production. This is who we will be following at the start of the season.
LB Brandon Spikes (Bills) — Played 18 of 66 snaps in a home loss to the Chargers, and was credited with three assisted tackles. Has now played 85 of 219 defensive snaps on the season.
TE Matthew Mulligan (Bears) — He is a free agent after being released by the Bears following Week 2 (he had played 25 of a possible 134 snaps), and worked out for the Ravens on Tuesday.
RB LeGarrette Blount (Steelers) — He broke out with 10 carries for 118 yards and a touchdown in a road win over the Panthers on Sunday night, playing 18 of 70 offensive snaps. He now has 17 carries for 133 yards on the season.
QB Brian Hoyer (Browns) — Finished 19 of 25 for 295 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in a 23-21 home loss to the Ravens as the Browns fell to 1-2.
CB Aqib Talib (Broncos) — Played 75 of 78 defensive snaps in a road loss to the Seahawks, and totaled six tackles and one pass defended. He has played 230 of 238 defensive snaps on the season, with five passes defended and 12 tackles.
WR Wes Welker (Broncos) — He returned after having his four-game suspension reduced with the NFL’s new drug policy and totaled six catches for 60 yards, while playing 47 of 72 snaps.
G Logan Mankins (Buccaneers) — Started at left guard and played 41 of 60 offensive snaps in a blowout road loss to the Falcons on Thursday night.
